Economic Development = Community Development
OUR tax dollars should help fund economic development that improves the lives of Bronxites and creates economic opportunities for everyone.
The city’s Department of Education must use the grounds on the north-side of the Armory to build four small schools with enough space for 2,000 students. to relieve overcrowding.
Create good retail jobs that pay a living wage minimum of $10 an hour, provide health benefits and seek to hire unemployed Bronx residents . Workers should be free to join a union without harassment and intimidation by their employers.
Build a family-oriented recreation facility that offers low-cost membership As well as a movie theatre.
Meet the needs of our residents by setting aside community non-profit space within the Armory.
Bring in retailers that offer services missing in our community - like a bookstore. Preserve and protect long-standing good businesses and their employees on Kingsbridge Road.
Protect our health from environmental hazards like asthma through sustainable design and minimizing traffic.
Create good jobs and apprenticeship opportunities for Bronx residents during construction.
